Yes the Beedlles Acoustic Club has got off to a great start for 2007 Monday 8th with many great performances again .
Keith Turner enthralled everyone with his brilliant performance of “ Strawberry Fields Forever”.
John Aston played his newly written song and tribute to his late Father with a lot of Love and passion.
Lynn Goulbourn visited us for the first time and sang "A Hard Days Night" with her own arrangement that really worked well as a ballad and also sang Joni's "Big Yellow Taxi".
Dave and Dean did their own tribute to James Brown with a funky "Papa's got a Brand New Bag" then sang a brilliant "Embrace" song.
Many thanks to Lee for singing that Jet song and helping me out with some maracas accompaniment on "Blue Bayou”.
The variety continued with Barry singing” Sloop John B" and Phil with "Under my Thumb”.
The evening finished off with Colin Perks with some Neil Young and Big Bill Broonzy Blues songs joined by Martin and John trading lead guitar breaks.
Just time for "One Trick Pony" with Julie singing "Wheels on Fire" and John doing a fine rendition of Jez Luton's song "Chasing Blues"
Hard to think of a better way to spend a Monday night on one of the most miserable nights of the year, weatherwise, than visit Beedles for a fiver and enjoy live music at it's best. See you next month. Malc |
